IMPLEMENTATION OF PORTFOLIO ASSESMENT IN EVALUATION OF LEARNING IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

ABSTRACT

This study aims to examine the use of portfolio assessment as an alternative assessment in science teaching elementary school, with qualitative research methods and descriptive design. Results showed a core of teachers' conceptual understanding of portfolio assessment is better than the teacher impact, it is seen from the plan that is designed core teachers have been able to design specific assessment criteria and rubrics to assess student portfolios, the results of observations were also seen teachers able to implement assessment portfolio well, but this time the impact of teachers are still difficulties in designing specific assessment criteria and rubrics for assessment portfolios



With these results the authors recommend to teachers to develop knowledge in designing learning devices and are expected to the principal and the agency can monitor the performance of teachers in preparing learning device.
